To celebrate our first holiday in our first home (and to let everyone know we had moved) I wrote a poem and illustrated it with a hand-cut collage fantasizing the two of us as king and queen in our little tin castle. The name of the street was Royale so I named our trailer Trashe Royale. Michael called it The Million Dollar Trailer which was probably more accurate.
Two decades of holidays followed at Trashe Royale, most of them lavish with lights and live evergreens. But our last tree was the most memorable because we cut it down ourselves. In a thunderstorm. What a story...
